Ruler of Ajaigarh (1848-1919)

Ranjore Singh (29 September 1848-7 June 1919) was the ruler of Ajaigarh state between 1859 and 1919.

Following the death of Vijay Singh, Ajaigarh escheated to the British Government due to failure of heirs, but in 1858 after the Mutiny, the late Raja's mother was allowed to adopt Kanwar Ranjore Singh, who then succeeded to the state the following year. He was granted the title of Sawai Maharaja on 1st January 1877 shortly following the coronation of Queen Victoria.[1][2][3]

He married and had issue which includes:

  • Sawai Maharaja Bhopal Singh (who succeeded him)
  • Rajkumar Jaipal Singh
  • Rajkumar Pakshapal Singh
  • Rajkumari Rajju Raja[2][3]
