The lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal is known as the House of Representatives, while the upper house is known as the National Assembly or Rastriya Sabha (Nepali:राष्ट्रिय सभा; Rāṣṭriya sabhā). The Constitution of Nepal's Parts 8 and 9 define the Assembly's makeup and authority. There are 59 members in total: three are nominated by the President on the advice of the government, and eight are chosen by electoral colleges in each of the seven provinces.[1]
