Ray Harryhausen
American animator (1920–2013)
Raymond "Ray" Harryhausen (June 29, 1920 – May 7, 2013)[1] was an American visual effects creator, writer, and producer. He lived in London, England, from 1960 until his death in 2013. He won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for the 1949 movie Mighty Joe Young. His final work featured in the movie Clash of the Titans.
Harryhausen was born on June 29, 1920 in Los Angeles, California to a German family. He was married to Diana Livingstone Bruce from 1963 until his death in 2013. Harryhausen died on May 7, 2013 in his home in London, England from natural causes, aged 92.[2]
