Richard Lerner
President of The Scripps Research Institute, research chemist (1938–2021)
Richard Alan Lerner (August 26, 1938 – December 2, 2021) was an American research chemist. He was best known for his work on catalytic antibodies. He was President of The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) until 2012. He was a member of its Skaggs Institute for Chemical Biology, in La Jolla, California. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He won a Wolf Prize in 1994.
Lerner died on December 2, 2021 in San Diego, California at the age of 83.[1][2]
