This version of the Sounders played in the USL First Division until after the 2008 season when the team's owner received a new franchise from Major League Soccer, the first division of soccer in the U.S. and Canada, called Seattle Sounders FC.

The team played their last season at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington. They used to play for many years at Qwest Field (now CenturyLink Field).

The team's colors were blue and white.
