"Son of a Preacher Man" is a 1968 song by British singer Dusty Springfield. It was taken from her fifth studio album Dusty in Memphis. It went to number 1 in Singapore, number 2 in Malaysia, number 3 in Switzerland, number 4 in the Netherlands, number 6 in Australia, number 7 in New Zealand, number 9 in the United Kingdom, number 10 in Austria and the United States and number 11 in Ireland. Following its use in the 1994 movie Pulp Fiction it when to number 1 in Iceland. It was recorded by Aretha Franklin following Springfield's version in 1969.
