Stamford (/ˈstæmfərd/) is a city in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. According to the US Census Bureau, the population of the city is 129,775 in 2018.[4] It the third-largest city in the state (behind Bridgeport and New Haven). It is about 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Manhattan.
