In the game, players can either play as a soldier in the Rebel Alliance or an Imperial Stormtrooper and battle enemies or other players on different planets. Playable characters include well-known characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Boba Fett. The game does not have a single-player campaign mode[5]

Reception

The game was given mixed reviews for both the PC and PlayStation 4 version but got positive reviews for the Xbox One version by both game critics. Critics said that they liked the details, graphics and atmosphere of the game. They said they didn't like that the game wasn't beginner friendly, had no single player campaign, had a Season Pass, and the combat was too repetitive.[6][7][8][9]

Battlefront sold very well as well. It sold over 14 million copies since May 2016.[10] When it launched in the UK, it became the fastest-selling online PlayStation 4 game.[11]

The game was nominated for Best Shooter at The Game Awards in 2015 but lost to Splatoon.[12]
