Semi? change
On the English Wikipedia, this is on 30/500 protection. This isn’t. Technically it makes sense as there is none, but semi protection does exist. It would stop IP vandals. What I learned about full protection is that it applies to articles that(1)should not be edited or (2)or legal policies that lawyers need to approve. That is why the Criteria for Speedy Deletion article is on EC. Anyway, I’ll leave it to an admin to decide. - @Operator873: yes it is. Coronavirus is a very contreversal topic. Especially because according to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–20_coronavirus_pandemic over 1.25 MILLION people have it, roughly the same as the population of Dallas, TX in the United States. Semi is needed. Think about it, on English Wikipedia, it is on extended confirmed protection, requiring people to be on the site for a month and have 500 edits. And here any old IP can have it. I understand we only have full, semi, create, move and cascade protection and enwiki has 30/500(EC), pending changes and more, but since we both have semi, that should be a minimum. Doesn’t belong change
This page shouldn’t be on Simple English Wikipedia, as, well, it is not simple. It uses too many scientific terms, most of which a lot of people would probably not understand. Stupstup (talk) 22:52, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- The complexity of this article has been drastically reduced as of the latest update. Hopefully, while still retaining the integrity of the content coverage of what the scientific "coronavirus" viral type is, this article should be more understandable to the average 12-year-old. - The complaint is basically nonsense. We do not cater just for children, but also adults whose first language is other than English. No-one imagines that a topic like this can be be simplified in the same way as an everyday non-technical topic. Macdonald-ross (talk) 12:12, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- True, true, but either way it's a lot simpler for any adult whose first language is not English to understand this topic. Good job, Macdonald-ross!
