Shanghai landmarks, by type

change

See these recent changes to Shanghai#Landmarks:

  • Under the section heading Landmarks is a link to this page, called the Main article.
  • The content includes all places on this page plus what was in the topic of Landmarks before the change (especially: Temples).
  • All has been organized by type, each with a subsection heading, and those are alphabetized.

Suggestions

  • This page would be more helpful if it were organized similarly - by type (perhaps as a section heading), and alphabetized.
  • You also might fill in the landmarks from that page that aren't yet described here.
  • Check each of these places in Wikidata to see:
    • Does it already have a page in other-language WPs?
    • Does the place have an "official" name in English? (this might need checking with the official website, and correcting!)

Improve writing of sections

change

I've copy-edited to improve the English of half-a-dozen sections (see View history for January 7 and 8). Editors can view the changes in "Compare selected revisions" for ideas of how to improve the remaining sections. @Mr Spear:, I hope these examples are useful to your students such as previous contributors @Cindy050512: and @Intelligent.Candy:. -- Deborahjay (talk) 13:48, 8 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Todo

change

I close the RfD as a keep, as the consensus was that the info is generally useful & encyclopedic (keepable). I leave further cleanup to the community. Ideas that popped up:

  • Each section as an article of its own, with proper sourcing & category
  • Move the page as a whole to a better name

In general, our focus should not be tourists, as a primary group. --Eptalon (talk) 12:58, 14 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
