Definition/inclusions

The description or definition of 'lemma' seems inconsistent with the examples given. (Frankly, I'd be very unhappy with my dictionary if it didn't have an entry for 'ran.') I don't have a better solution: I looked at the definition in Wik/en, and that won't do for simple English. Can some-one come up with a good solution?Kdammers (talk) 08:18, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

First dictionary I picked up had "Ran: see Run". Yes, linguistics has some difficult technical terms, and they cannot always be simplified. We have discussed about science that pages must be accurate, even if that means introducing terms which are not on any of the Simple vocabulary lists. Currently associated to English Wikipedia to en:Headword, but is there a conflict of meanings with Simple English Wikipedia?

No. This page accurately covers the linguistic meanings at an introductory level. The psycholinguistic meaning is quite different, and would need another page. It is not our intention to cover every twist and turn of corresponding En articles. It is often best, and certainly appropriate, to cover more than one En article in one of ours. That is because, in real life, virtually identical concepts may arise in one discipline. On En each version may have a different page. We usually don't.
