Macdonald-ross, "It is always good to write something in this box. This lets people know what you have changed. You can also say why you changed something." is what Wikipedia:Change summary states. It seems rude to not state why you revert without a reason given. Please, help me understand. Stewi101015 (talk) 01:26, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I think this question should be on a different talk page. But, it is wise to write something in the edit summary box so that people know before hand what you are changing on the page. //nepaxt01:44, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Stewi, this should have been either on Mac's talk page, or underneath the talk page conversation that made you have the question. Your talk page is not for contacting other users, even if you ping them. --Auntof6 (talk) 01:52, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Per this it is regarding an attempt at a link for Academic Press ... It is about the page. Why am I talking with you? It is a question as to why it was reverted without a change summary. You can not definitively answer that question. Stewi101015 (talk) 01:59, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
If I am doing something wrong, you must specifically communicate what that is. It appears (from what I have read so far) I am following the "rules" ... Stewi101015 (talk) 02:05, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
1.) I noticed that you put the wrong topic on the wrong talk page. So, I put it on your talk page. Per talk page guidelines, it is inappropriate to use article talk pages as chat pages. 2.) I noticed your mistake on the recent changes log, so I moved it. 3.) If you want to better know how to edit Wikipedia, read the links in the Welcome Message more closely. Thank you. //nepaxt02:10, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Nepaxt, maybe next time you could ask the person to move their own conversation. Besides, it's not that uncommon for unrelated conversations to happen on article talk pages. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:37, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
┌─────────────────────────────────┘ @Chenzw: ¨Accuse¨ is such a strong word. I want civility.
Nepaxt´s actions appear arrogant. He shockingly (to me) moved something (my seeking understanding discussion) he showed he did not fully understand. This does not appear to be the humility required of a newbie. Stewi101015 (talk) 04:50, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Behavioural policies like Be kind and Assume good faith are intended to be applied to ourselves, not to other Wikipedians. There is no seniority here. Editors are editors. That includes administrators, bureaucrats, stewards… everyone. We're all her to build an encyclopedia. Now, editors have different levels of experience and often in different areas. All that means is that if an editor can help a less experienced editor, they should. And we do not bite the newcomers. That applies if you've been here six years, six months or six days. You should also know that any bad comment about another editor can be considered a personal attack. I'm not saying it is in this case, just that it could be taken as such. OK, what to do? First, I'd suggest an apology to Nepaxt. Just think about it. When things are in writing and you can't see the person's expressions it's easy to get the wrong impression. Secondly, since you have been doing copy editing (fixing links, spelling, etc.) you should know he seems to be pretty good at it. He could be a good editor to know. All of us bring something to the table and there aren't enough of us that we can afford to be squabbling among ourselves. Thing is, we all work together and we respect each other. Forgive me for not being particularly focused on this thread, as I have not even thought about it in awhile. No malice here. I stated I want to Be Kind (see above). And I am AGF, as it just seemed like a misunderstanding to me.
What kind of "apology" are you suggesting; for someone with I had never before had an interaction? Just some kind of "no hard feelings"?
Harmonious cooperation to further develop Wikiland is my goal.
