Tangerang
city in Banten Province, Indonesia
Tangerang is a city in Banten, Indonesia. It is located 25 km west of Jakarta. It is the sixth largest city in the nation. It has an area of 164.54 km² and an population of 1,797,715 (2010),[2] increasing to 2,001,925 as at 2014[1] It is the eighth most populated suburb in the world. The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport which serves Greater Jakarta is in the city. In 2021, 49 people were killed in a prison fire.
