Fixing this template

change

Can somebody fix the categories for this template? Or decide on what's a policy and what's a guideline? For example, WP:Signatures is in the guideline section but it's a policy, and WP:Protecting children's privacy is in the policy section but it's a guideline. 2607:FB91:112:8C9C:C1F8:CC9C:4C8E:944D (talk) 00:59, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

The rules represent both policies and guideline. Policies are firm rules that we're agreed to whereas guidelines are not rules but are firm enough that w all agree. Some of the rules are "office rules" such as NPOV and anyone can edit, which are WMF rules we can not change locally. I agree that template is not ideal. I'll take a look at it. fr33kman 03:29, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Perhspd bold rules and not bold guidelines? fr33kman 03:32, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The child protection was pointing at the guideline on privacy and not the policy on protection. I changed its target. I also went through and sorted the layout so its pillar/rules first, Policies next and then guidelines. I left the WMF pages at the bottom of th list. The manual of Style items are guidelines but as the group is not named guidelines like the others, I tossed it to the end of the guideline section. I grouped them by class so we could color code that first block but I could not figure that part out.. that way we could easily show the three main groupings (Pillars, policy, guideline) - If someone could fix to coding for it.. I think it's better now but the text is a bit too small and I don't think the borders are necessary. Kk.urban (talk) 20:25, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
