For the 2019 season, the Raptors won the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in the team's history.[8] Because of this, they also got the chance to play in the NBA Finals for the first time in their history.[9] They won the NBA Finals against the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors in six games and became the first Canadian team to win an NBA Final.[10][11] Kawhi Leonard was named the Finals MVP for the second time in his career.
