The song was first going to be called "Version 7.0". Odadjian said in an interview: "I called it 'Version 7.0.' At the time, AOL was around, and it was at Version 5.0. I was like, 'When this song comes out, it'll be on Version 7.0, and we'd be telling the future.'"[7]
During their 2005 Download Festival performance, songwriter Daron Malakian said that the song was about having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) before playing it.[8]
A music video for the song was released. It was directed by Marcos Siega and Shavo Odadjian. In the video, the video swaps between the band playing in a white room and playing on a stage. Footage of homeless people and prostitutes, are shown over the bodies of the band. The band eats sunflower seeds together while sitting on a couch. The stage sinks and a crowd emerges around where the band is playing where they start a moshpit.[9]
