Troy Carter
American politician
Troy Anthony Carter (born October 26, 1963) is an American politician. Carter is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Louisiana since 2021. He was a member of the Louisiana State Senate for the 7th district from 2016 until 2021. Carter was a member of the New Orleans City Council and as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.

In December 2020, Carter announced his candidacy for the special U.S. House of Representatives election to replace Cedric Richmond.[1] On April 24, 2021 Carter was elected to the U.S. House after winning the run-off election.[2]
