Welcome
changeHello! I noticed that you may have come here from another Wikipedia, so you know a little about how things work here. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! Here are some links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- Where to ask questions and discuss things
- How to copy from another Wikipedia
There's a lot to do here. Most of it is writing articles that do not exist yet, which you can do by translating from other Wikipedias, but have a look around and see what you want to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need any help. Zhangj1079 (Saluton!) 16:00, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
- Zhangj1079: Hi (and sal! ;))! Thank you for welcoming me. It seems according to your user page that you might not be available right now? Ĉu vi eble parolas esperanton? :)
- It's correct, I do have previous Wikipedia experience :) Came here with the thought that if I wanted to do something on Wikipedia that is internationally beneficial, then perhaps this would be the best place to be. I mean, simple English might perhaps be one of the closest things we have to an international auxililary language/help language...
- I appreciate the non-bot welcoming.. :) 786r (talk) 18:15, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
- Well, yeah. I'm actually on break, though since I had a free weekend I could edit (or as we say here, "change"). And yes, I can speak Esperanto, though only a little bit (I'm still learning). As for the Simple English Wikipedia, I think the description of "international auxiliary language" is a bit generous, though we are trying to help people learning English here.
- Regarding the bot welcomes you might see in other wikis, here at Simple we don't usually do bot welcomes. They're all done by human editors.
- I hope to see you around editing more! Happy changing! :) Zhangj1079 (Saluton!) 18:24, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
