Welcoming new users change

When you see new users, please wait until they have made several good edits before welcoming them. That way we can make sure we aren't welcoming a vandal. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 16:16, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ok. I often welcome users who have one good edit but I will wait next time until they have some more. Most of the time I check on their changes after I welcomed them to be sure that I did not welcome a vandal.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 16:41, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest to exercise more AGF. Let us assume that every new user who came here has good intentions. And let us hope, that if we have "warmly welcomed" 100 vandals, one of them will feel ashamed of his plans due to our unconditional AGF, and actually will end up contributing here.Tdfdc (talk) 18:27, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes I agree. I do like to AGF when dealing with new users, And as you said we may be able to convert a vandal to a constructive editer.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:16, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
That is a nice sentiment, Tdfdc, but it is our practice to wait a bit. I didn't ask Mr Wiki Pro to wait just because I thought it would be a good idea. --Auntof6 (talk) 22:36, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok from now on I will try to wait until new users have made several good edits before welcoming them.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 23:14, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
And if you see they are a vandal, you can use {{welcomevandal}}. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:16, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes I have had to use that before. I just enjoy welcoming new users.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 23:19, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Again, please wait until a user has made a couple of good edits before welcoming. You did not do that here--Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
But even if the user did have only one edit it was still a good one! I just enjoy welcoming people.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 22:07, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

For the laughs... change

Take this test. It is very humorous. I scored very high, and was placed in admin status. --Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Thanks. I will try it later.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:47, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

RFA change

I noticed you said you would support if he had a few more months of experience. Wow. If I requested adminship, I wouldn't even support myself, nonetheless somebody that has only made two pages and edited one, within two days. Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

I am sure one day that user will be a very good editer but no-one will support a RFA when the user has only been here for 2 days. I needed to be cerefull about how I said it to aviod people saying I am biting the newbies.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 20:27, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ahh. I understand now. --Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Do What U Want (Lady Gaga song) change

I was wondering what you had in mind when you added the {{context}} tag to this article. What would you want to see to give it context? --Auntof6 (talk) 10:38, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

You know I cannot rembember why I did that. I must have pressed it without knowing. I will be more carefull next time.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 14:46, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks for the reply. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:33, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

User Created second account. change

The new user, User:Mahnoorkamran, created a second account, User:Rosemahnoorkamran. Is this not sock puppetry? What do I do? He hasn't used either accounts for anything though, so I can't say he is using two accounts. -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Having more than one account is not sockpuppetry. Only if this user starts vandalising or voting or things like that makes it sockpuppetry. So, For now, I would do nothing.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 15:00, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Voting... change

I am thrilled to see that someone besides me also remembered that we need to update the Article of the Week. Although the previous article of the week was not completed, that does not reflect on this weeks article of the week. Also, I want to state that Arctic Kangaroo did attempt to create it and should gain some recognition. The previous article was a bad choice on my part, seeing as we all know little about the subject.

To get to the point, I was wondering if we could discuss how the voting is going to work. Shall I setup a page for the voting? (That would be my choice.) or should we vote on the talk page? Lets discuss - Pending(tell me I screwed up and where) 18:11, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think a new voting page would be a good idea. Also I know about the page created by Arctic Kangaroo. Also Thesixstsaff may not vote as they have been inactive for a few days.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I noticed that Thesixthstaff has been inactive. I suggest we leave her out of this vote. Also, I really do like the article you nominated. It probably will get my vote. I'll get start on the new page…Hey…how many times have I said that lately! (A LOT!) -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)
Agreed.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:22, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Look at that users edits! I am not welcoming users like that! I needed to go straight to a level 3 warning just look at what they did.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 23:34, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but one of the points of welcoming people is to convince them to change their ways by assuming good faith and essentially guilting them into it! :D Thesixthstaff (talk) 23:39, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

If only that worked on me when I was a vandal…:( *sob* -Pending(tell me I screwed up and where)

Sorry but I will not AGF when dealing with people like that. If they begin editing constructively I will be nicer to them and happily welcome them.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 23:44, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
