Pahunkat
Hello!
This is my talk page on the Simple English Wikipedia.
I'm way more active on the English Wikipedia. You can find me here. I'll probably respond faster if contacted on my talk page there, but feel free to post any messages below.
Welcome
changeHello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- Simple talk: our help desk, reference desk and village pump- in one page
- How to copy from English Wikipedia
There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. Belwine • 💬 • 📜 21:29, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks Belwine - yes, I'm way more active on enwiki - see en:User:Pahunkat. I'll have a look through those links now :-) Pahunkat (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- I came from English Wikipedia too. I see you revert vandalism there, which is mainly what I do there nowadays. You might be glad to know there is a lot less of it here, but there is still some. There are also lots of articles that can be extended here, but as our name suggests we use simpler language, and we generally go off WP:BE1500. Happy editing Belwine • 💬 • 📜 21:34, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's good. Right now we're dealing with a Tiktok vandalism campaign, Enwiki's seen a great increase in reverts because of that. Luckily it doesn't seem to have caused you much of an issue :-) Pahunkat (talk) 21:39, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oh ok, I don't seem to have seen much of that on enwiki, I haven't been too active today. I do around 25 reverts a day usually. Here, we just have one IP who vandalises until level 4 and then gets blocked and then that's usually the end of it really. On another note, I also got accidentally permanently blocked on English the other day, but it was only for 11 seconds Belwine • 💬 • 📜 21:44, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Belwine, Materialscientist blocked you? I guess Huggle is rather fast paced (I use it along with RedWarn and Twinkle), and it's easy to make mistakes. All you need to do to disrupt the wiki is to hold down the letter Q, and all edits in the queue will be reverted. Perhaps there's also a key to block users, but I don't have that option for obvious reasons. Pahunkat (talk) 21:51, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I sent a message to them and they said it was an error in Huggle. I sometimes use Huggle here (you don't need rollback for use in other wikis) but there's not usually a massive need, since we only get edits every few minutes or so.
Also, we have Twinkle here, but I regret to inform you that we don't have RedWarn Belwine • 💬 • 📜 21:56, 29 January 2021 (UTC)- oh and with the block, it happened to Ashleyyoursmile and Maantietäjä as well. It's good Materialscientist did notice and unblocked. Belwine • 💬 • 📜 22:01, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Belwine - Wow, Ashleyyoursmile too? That's odd, Huggle should have whitelisted both you and Ashleyyoursmile - so your edits shouldn't have been in the queue in the first place. I think this is calls for a case of en:WP:TROUT. Pahunkat (talk) 22:05, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, it might have something to do with seeing an edit after it's been reverted, I'm not sure though, I'm not a regular user of Huggle. --Belwine • 💬 • 📜 22:15, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

- And on that note, I've realized I have yet to enable Twinkle or Redwarn. Pahunkat (talk) 21:52, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
