Strange rollback

? I thought rollback is only for blatant vandalism. Oh well. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 15:29, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I use rollback for every edit I undo as I have a script which allows me to modify the default reason. For whatever reason, the dialog box I get when I click rollback did not appear, so the default edit summary appeared. Either way, I had blocked both the vandals, so it really doesn't matter. I think it's obvious that you didn't vandalize VIP... Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 15:34, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back

Welcome back, you have been missed. --Peterdownunder (talk) 11:25, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Peterdownunder. Feels good to be back here, let's see if I can do something useful. :) Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 11:35, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

I just saw that users with good global contributions are given Rollback rights on this wiki. There are many active vandals on this project and I will like to rollback their edits. I just wanted to ask how much simple wiki experience is expected from a user who requests rollback rights. Vibhijain (talk) 14:51, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Flag granted. Take a look at this page and remember to use it correctly. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 15:03, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I promise that I will use it correctly.Vibhijain (talk) 15:07, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice Work! :D

Hello, I've seen some of your work in new changes and I have to say that your work it great I made my first "revision" or "undo" a few minutes ago and I think it was well placed please inform me :D. Also I saw that you blocked that vandal and once again I must say Nice Work! :D Well it was nice speaking with you bye! I wish you knew I was sorry (Chat with me :D) 16:55, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but I think your revert was incorrect as you removed several references and some content from the page. I have now reverted it back to the original revision. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 17:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

What was wrong about my revision on googleplex It's not a real number

I wish you knew I was sorry (Chat with me :D) 17:20, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, a google search and looking at the English Wikipedia tells me it is very much valid. Please check Google and other wikis before tagging articles for deletion in the future. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 17:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please comment on RfD if you have time

Hi, I see you closed this as kept last time around. There is another RfD on Foothills Paper. I thought you might be interested. Thanks, Gotanda (talk) 01:12, 28 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Grenada article

Thank you very much for fixing my error on the Grenada at the Olympics article! It was driving me bonkers. --Tbennert (talk) 16:43, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

No problem. Thanks for all the new articles you created. :) Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 17:35, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tropical Depression Ten (2005)

Hey there Pmlineditor, I'm delighted to inform you that an article that you nominated or worked on towards VGA status, Tropical Depression Ten (2005), has now been promoted - congratulations! On behalf of the SEWP community I would like to thank you for your work and for helping to increase the number of better quality articles we have, and look forward to seeing more contributions from you in the future. Once more, congratulations! Goblin 13:40, 16 July 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Gordonrox24!Reply

Yay, at least I got one article promoted to VGA, when most of the VGAs me (and other people) wrote are getting demoted. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 13:42, 16 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yep! Well done! Could you perhaps also write the Main Page stub? Cheers! Goblin 14:10, 16 July 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Gordonrox24!Reply

C1

Can't use C1 on cats that are at CFD (deletion discussions) however, no big deal in this case. Just be careful on the speedies... you do good work.  :) Kindly, Jon@talk:~$ 21:17, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

You are correct, but imho, it was fairly non-controversial and either way, C2 applied here. All in all, no harm was done. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 08:45, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Titan's Curse

Hi Pmlineditor

Whenever you're ready I can give the article a review. Casey, (Albacore (talk · changes)) 18:36, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Could you review the article now? Most of Gotanda's concerns have been fixed and a further review would be great. Thanks. :) Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 18:50, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have just reverted an edit made by this user to the Maglev train page. <br\>I noticed he has already been given a final warning. I have warned him again and now request that he be blocked from Wikipedia. <br\>I am aware that he has not created a user page, so go here instead. <br\>Orashmatash (talk) 18:08, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

Hi, I was just wondering, how much longer will I need to wait before I am finally granted rollback? I mean, I am coming across more and more vandalism, and I find the rollback function implemented in Twinkle almost impossible to find! I just want a simple, effective way to revert vandalism. Orashmatash (talk) 18:25, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please read this page. It clearly states that for rollback to be granted, "[y]ou should have made a lot of changes, preferably showing vandal fighting. If you have rollback elsewhere, or admin rights elsewhere, this requirement is not needed. So if you are already a rollbacker or admin elsewhere on WMF, you can just ask for it here and it may be granted." You do not have rollback or admin rights in any Wikimedia wiki and have only one revert here, though vandalism is not reverted as fast here as in the English Wikipedia and often lies for several minutes or, in some cases, hours. Undo is a reliable method of reverting vandalism in case the Twinkle rollback does not work (it might not due to MediaWiki upgrades). Rollback is a fast and effective tool for reverting vandalism, but one must ensure that a rollbacker has sufficient knowledge about the difference between vandalism and an erroneous AGF edit. In most cases, this requires much more activity and experience in anti-vandalism than you have (at least 50-100 reverts). So I suggest you focus on reverting vandalism. Perhaps you could join #cvn-simplewikis in IRC where the most recent edits to the Simple Wikis (Wikipedia and Wiktionary) are tracked; it would enable you to quickly spot vandalism and revert it. In case you do not have an IRC client, Webchat is a web-based client you can use. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 14:58, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, what a about patroller? I am a patroller on the English Wikipedia, although it is not a "permanent role", I regularly inspect articles and tag articles for things like cleanup and wikification. My CSD skills need a bit of improvement, so lets not go there. I am going to refrain from CSDing articles, and instead tag them for improvements on the English Wikipedia. I would try and do so here, but... I'm not a patroller. My English wiki page is located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Orashmatash. I have also created some more articles, so you may want to check them out. I have also gotten a bit more familiar with Wiki Markup( See? I know the name now! :D ). Orashmatash (talk) 20:33, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
The patroller right is not granted to relatively new users, regardless of the number of articles created. It requires much more activity and experience than you have displayed. As you yourself say, patroller is not a right "given" to users in enwiki, anyone auto-confirmed has it, primarily because in enwiki, the number of patrollers must be more to tackle the huge number of articles created daily. Moreover, this is not enwiki, so I suggest you focus working here than showing instances from enwiki to collect rights. For what's worth, I am not going to grant patroller rights to anyone who hasn't written at least 25 near-perfect articles/has done a lot of content work/is very experienced in patrolling, CSD and antivandalism. I'd also note that you should focus on actual editing than collecting for rights as continuously asking for rights which you have no use for do not improve your chances of getting them. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 13:54, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
No further comment. I will work on it. Orashmatash (talk) 17:05, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Anti-vandalism

Hi, could you please use one of your admin tools to tell me how many vandalism revertions and warnings I have done? NO, THIS IS NOT ANOTHER REQUEST FOR ROLLBACK! I just don't want to spend ages looking it up. Cheers, Orashmatash (talk) 18:13, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

My admin tools don't give me any special tool to check the number of vandalism reversions someone has done, so you might as well check since both of us need to do the same thing (search your contributions). It doesn't take much time tbh. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 18:16, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks. :) Orashmatash (talk) 20:23, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
