Hi I'm not sure if it needs protection, if there was vandalism of any sort then maybe but protection is not needed sorry. Yegoyan 03:24, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's to gain protection based upon the fact that I don't want anyone editing it. It's an archive. -Razorflame 03:25, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the BS. --Yegoyan 04:12, 1 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem, but you got some work to do! There are vandalous pages out there! -Razorflame 04:12, 1 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Editing

I am not sure how you are simplifying pages but, using Valais as an example, it is better to work on User:Razorflame/Valais and when you think this is good enough move the entire page to mainspace,. this way the edit history and associated talk pages are maintained. At the moment User talk:Razorflame/Valais belongs at Talk:Valais -- Barliner  talk  11:26, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

For checking if an article is easy enough you might use this instrument. To check for all your articles is not that quickly done. (And I have not really time before Tuesday.) But let us see. --Cethegus 17:19, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
What is the cut-off for words that are too complex on that page you gave me a link to? -Razorflame 17:22, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I would think, normally between Nr. 3 and Nr.4. --Cethegus 08:47, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

For Valais I would think the following words should be avoided or explained by context in the article, by link or by wiktionary link. (I think it's rather clear which words should not be avoided as they belong to the context and should have their own pages on the long run.)

cattle federal invaded networks refinery reformation republic ski slope valley wealthier dairy freight subsidiaries alps infrastructure protestant thriving brig demographics demographics orchards saffron, burgundy confederation canton hiking plains glacier populous valais rhone geneva pennine bernese matterhorn conthey entremont goms rens leuk martigny monthey raron maurice sierre visp vaud bern uri ticino mattertal jura rudolph iii savoy, zugewandter ort, republique des dizains, republik der sieben zehenden napoleon valais republique du helvetic simplon sonderbund saas verbier evolene crans montana goms chablais novartis syngenta monthey collombey visp grimsel tschberg frutigen wallis kandertal mittelland sitten sierre --Cethegus 09:00, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Most of those words have already been linked to other pages in the wiki project. Most of them are still red, but once they are blue, they will fully explain those words. -Razorflame 15:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's clear. - I wanted to answer your question which words were too complex. In any case all of these should be "explained by context in the article, by link or by wiktionary link". --Cethegus 21:46, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

1,000 Edits

Congrats, but looking at non-deleted edits, its 938 Congrats though :) ..--Cometstyles 15:57, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The deleted edits are from my userspace pages that I simplified, then moved to mainspace, then had the userspace pages deleted. -Razorflame 15:59, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Warnings - that you give :)

did realise that most warning templates will give the name of the article if you enter a piped link, which would make it quicker to spot regular vandals of a page?

BTW What tools do you use to revert and warn? -- Barliner  talk  15:57, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't use any tools to revert or warn other than this website. -Razorflame 15:59, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Images, bots

Hello, I have already User:OsamaKBOT, It's an interwikibot, I think you don't have an welcome bot, do people have problems with it? Also do you have an images policy? Thanks!--OsamaK 16:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

We do not allow users to upload images onto Simple Wikipedia.

I'm not sure about the bot, ask Vector or Barliner about the bot.

What is the warning to User:86.135.43.208 for, is this something I have already dealt with or a new item?-- Barliner  talk  17:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

New item. He created a talk page for the page you just deleted. -Razorflame 17:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit count

Hello Razorflame. 1000 Edits in a week is really a good thing. I think you are the first user here to do that. I feel a little bad about my own edit count. According to this site, I have about 13.600 edits, to about 5700 pages. As you can see from that log too, it took me almost a year to get admin privileges. I am currently feeling bad because I only do 500-800 edits/month (varies a bit, depending on month, I have done around 20 this month). If you wanted to hint at you becoming an admin, please note that despite your high level of activity, you will need to sit out some more time. As I said, I tried to become an admin twice, and failed. Only when I was nominated (third time) by someone else, was I able to become an admin. Please be sure to read en:Wikipedia:Wikipediholic and en:Wikipedia:Editcountitis (fr:Wikipédia:Compteurdédite or de:Wikipedia:Sucht are similar essays). Otherwise, look that your social life does not suffer. So instead of replying here, invite your en:Significant other for a drink and have a nice evening. --Eptalon 18:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am still in school, so I do this while I am in school as it is a nice break away from the regular hub-bub of school. If you noticed, I was not on at all yesterday and I was not on very much the day before that. That is going to be how it is for the rest of the school year. -Razorflame 19:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good for you :) --Yegoyan 20:34, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello again. All I wanted to point out with my posting above was that becoming an admin usually takes more time, and that there are risks involved in editing here. This is shown by the essays I pointed to. You probably know them by now. And yes, congratulations for your 1k edits, I don't know anyone who did that faster. ;) --Eptalon 23:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yep, I realized that that was all you wanted to point out, and I have reaped the risks of editing through my Dermatologist edit mistakes that I made earlier today. I realize that becoming an admin takes time, I just really hope to make sure that I'm doing everything right. -Razorflame 00:18, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Again, this is not about doing everything right. This is about learning from mistakes. In that way, if you ever become an admin (Are the additional tabs really worth it?), you are in a position that you can correct your mistakes yourself, and that they are not too frequent. Adminship is about trust, by the community, not about not making any mistakes. Look at it another way: The moment you on longer need to check a user's edits, you trust that user. That moment, the user is ready to become an admin, if they know the rules. Put differently yet again, make sure to make as many mistakes as possible, in order to learn from them. --Eptalon 23:49, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note. I have taken in what you have said and will act on it. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 23:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dermatologist

Hello. I was planning to add more content to the dermatologist article. Also, there is already an article for dermatologist on SE Wiktionary. — This unsigned comment was added by User:Inherendo (talk • changes){{#if: December 3rd | on December 3rd.

Please add the content you wish to add in your userspace, as I do. That way, it won't get deleted right away, like it did this time. Please also understand that I am not an administrator on this site. -Razorflame 21:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for welcoming me! I'm glad if you appreciated my articles! You say that Simple English Wikipedia work mainly with articles about more basic subjects, and thought about that from the beginning and did wonder if my articles were suitable here. I have to admit, that i wrote here simply because it was possible to start articles here without logging in, which it is not in English Wikipedia; to tell you the truth, i have an account there, but i stopped being active because i felt i was becoming adictive (If these articles were pasted in there, i would deffenitly develope them, haha!) I suppose i just couldn't help myself. I thought about three more that i feel i want to add, and i hope it is okay. Thank you for your kind words! --85.226.235.206 21:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

At least your edits are correct instead of just plain vandalism like a bunch of other IP addresses' edits. And for that, you just realize that you are making the admins' workload much less :) -Razorflame 21:16, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

VIP report

Thanks for the VIP report, but I don't think anything is warranted yet, as the previous edit was 6 weeks ago. Needs to be checked though, in case they vandalise anything else today.-- Barliner  talk  16:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

They have vandalized stuff today; I'll get the stuff they vandalized today to you ASAP. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 16:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

VIP reports are only needed when the vandal is going on a "spree" or there are not any administrators currently active. A couple of vandal edits do not need a report especially when Barliner and myself are obviously on and keeping an eye on things to issue blocks if need be. Now I'll admit that you don't know when we're going to leave, I'll be going to lunch here soon as it is, but if a vandal is only hitting a page or two with an edit or two then it can wait. I do appreciate your vigilance though. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  17:42, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know that they don't warrant a VIP report, but it is still a good idea to get them listed on it so that you and Barliner can remember which user it was and then can block him accordingly. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 17:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's what the warnings on the talk page are for. We look there to see how many times they have been warned, we then look at the contributions to see if the warnings were justified, and then we determine if a block is needed. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  17:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Revert on the featured article addition

That FA link does work, it changes the square to a star and is standard practice. Do not jump to vandalism conclusions and handing out warnings for good faith edits. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  17:13, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. I didn't know what that edit did. I thought it was just inserting random links for the fun of it. My mistake! -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 17:14, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

As you ask

I am impressed how active you are and how quickly you learn. In some cases it seems useful when you look a bit longer at what is happening before you act. (But I don't see so much of what you are doing as you might suppose.) - And concerning hectic: not seldom I think I act too quickly as well. --Cethegus 20:42, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Recent Edits

Well, there are good things you've done so far, and there are other things you did which haven't been this good. For example, I appreciate the time you've put on vandalism, and the efforts you've put on helping with articles becoming VGA. However, I dislike the way you send messages to several users at a time, just to inform them about your reaching 1000 edits in this wiki, or to ask them all about how they think about your edits.

Excuse me for writing this short; I'm short in time these days. I might also have missed some big things you've done, becasue I didn't review everything you did in the past days.

Regards, Huji 20:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, then, I wasn't sure if that was appropriate or not, but if sending the same message to users that I respect isn't ok, how can I ask everyone the same question without doing that? One part of my trait that I dislike is that I am always seeking approval. I have tried changing this aspect of myself, but I have found that next to impossible. For now, I will refrain from sending messages to multiple users at a time. Thanks for telling me this flaw in myself. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

As Huji, pointed out above, spamming users on how you are progressing will not help you at all in the future if you feel like going for an RfA. I appreciate your editions to this wiki like everyone else and please continue doing so..Cheers and thanks for the Uncyclopedia Barnstar :DDD...--Cometstyles 20:48, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I will stop doing this now. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:49, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm happy you've taken the point I made. In future, you can send emails to people, or if you're sure there is something related to the wiki, which needs input from more than one editor, you can post it on Simple Talk. - Huji reply 20:56, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've taken the liberty of undoing the edits I've made earlier so that they aren't included into the user's talk pages anymore. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:57, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your edits

Hello, I don't know if you are interested in this, but I write it anyway. There is a revision of my user page where you ask me what I think of your edits. You later reverted that revision, so I do not know if you are still interested in my opinion. What I generally think about new editors is the following: They are not vandals, they contribute valid articles in a field that interests them. Your recent reverting of vandalism, and warning of vandals is certainly positive. On the other hand I think that the articles about numbers are probably something for wiktionary. Being between 52 and 54, having a certain number of divisors, and perhaps other properties does not make 53 notable, imo, At the momment, I am too busy though to add all of them to the RFD page. In my opinion, these number pages should be for the year, not the number. That is just me though. Remember, this is not about how many articles you write (edit count), but about the quality of editing. Otherwise, keep up the good work. --Eptalon 23:40, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you look in the RfD history, you will see that the decision was to keep these pages, as all of the other languages have pages for the numbers between 1 and 100. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 23:41, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
