Veljko Bulajić

Croatian film director (1928–2024)

Veljko Bulajić (22 March 1928 – 3 April 2024) was a Croatian Montenegrin movie director.

Bulajić was a resistance fighter in World War II having joined the Yugoslav Partisans group at the age of 13.[1]

Some of his best known movies were Kozara and Battle of Neretva.[2][3] According to the Croatian Public Broadcasting Company, his movies have reached an audience of 500 million viewers worldwide.[4] The top four most viewed Yugoslav films of all time were all directed by Bulajic.[5]

Bulajić died on 3 April 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia at the age of 96.[6][7][8][9]
