Wetumpka is a city in Elmore County, Alabama, United States. According to the 2020 US census, there are 7,220 people living there.[2] The city is the county seat of Elmore County. In the early 21st century, it was one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Together with Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, and Tallassee the city is considered part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Area, or River Region. There are approximately 386,047 people living in the region.
