Many people produced the music on the album, such as F1lthy, Ken Carson, Pi'erre Bourne, and Maaly Raw. The album has 24 songs on it. Kid Cudi, Future, and Kanye West sing for some of the songs on Whole Lotta Red.

Many music critics loved Whole Lotta Red.[5][6] The album was number one on the Billboard 200 music chart.[7] It was Carti's first album to be number one. In 2022, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gave the album a gold certification.[8]
