What counts as a GA?

change

Hi all! Just a question: What counts as GA? Only articles which are written by the nominator (expanded from a stub) or "finished" articles which needs only some fixes? Barras || talk 16:18, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Both. Basically, any article you personally bring to GA. Shappy talk 16:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Is an article which has not been nominated but significantly worked on also a GA? Pmlineditor  Talk 16:44, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, it has to be a good article that passes PGA. Shappy talk 16:45, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for my absymal English. :P What I meant was that: Suppose User X nominates an article. But I work on it and it passes GA. So will it be counted? Pmlineditor  Talk 16:46, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I suppose. Shappy talk 16:47, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles Nominated

change

Shappy I hope you don't mind. I just nominated today. Shouldn't the editors put the article they are doing in a list so it will be easier for the judges to decide? This should be the official place. --Salixa (talk) 21:55, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Shappy has retired from the project, so another thing I was going to do was to move the page ;). I was planning on making a subpage rather than use the talk page, but it's up to everyone else I gues... Goblin 21:59, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!Reply
I sent him an e-mail about this, and he doesn't seem to care very much. Feel free to move it. Griffinofwales (talk) 22:10, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thank for double checking Griff! I'll start sorting it out once i've got DYK updated - we need a fifth hook reviewing ASAP if anyone is interested. Goblin 22:12, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Nifky!Reply
What's DYK? What's the 'fifth hook'? --Salixa (talk) 22:19, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hey there, straying off topic from the GA Cup, DYK means "Did you know", or, more specifically, our DYK area. Each DYK fact is a "hook", and each update has five hooks - i.e. we need one more hook (the fifth one) until it can be updated. Regards, Goblin 22:30, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Yotty!Reply
Where are we moving the page? --Salixa (talk) 22:31, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

points.

change

One point for each promotion? So one point from GA, and one point for GA > VGA. Griffinofwales (talk) 23:21, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not that it makes much difference, I was going to say 5 for a GA, 5 for a GA-->VGA and 10 for a VGA. Will be setting up a scoring system now, it will be easier than having judges and the like... Goblin 23:24, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton!Reply
Why 5 points? It's identical to my scoring system except the numbers are higher. Griffinofwales (talk) 23:34, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
No real reason, but I guess it just future proofs it if we ever add in other ways of getting points. I'm not really fussed either way tbh. Goblin 23:37, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!Reply

Idea: Move this back to user space, BG7's? Griffinofwales (talk) 23:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

No, i'm not keen on USing it. Considering it runs over a shorter period and is much less complex it makes much more sense to be WP: space, and then also doesn't have to be moved about in the event people leave. Goblin 23:24, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton!Reply
If you say so. Griffinofwales (talk) 23:34, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Again, not actually fussed too much, but meh. Goblin 23:37, 2 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!Reply
We can move it into my User Space. I'm not leaving anytime soon. Actually not at all if I can't help it. I'm not going on vacation. I'm in school. I'll be here until November at least Just wondering.....how do I make user space? Hehe don't know too much except about articles. Or we can do like an actual article space. I've seen it done on en.wiki. --Salixa (talk) 00:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's fine here now that it's here. To create user space, you type in User:Salixa/<name of page> into the search box. Click on create, add content and you are done! — This unsigned comment was added by Griffinofwales (talk • changes).
