Wolseley Expedition

1870 Red River Rebellion military operation
(Redirected from Wolsely Expedition)

The Wolseley Expedition was a military force that was led by Colonel Garnet Wolsely. Put together to capture the Canadian Métis leader Louis Riel, the expedition took place in 1870 and went from Toronto to Winnipeg.

Since it had to carry so much equipment, including guns, the expedition is thought to be one of the most difficult in all of recent history.
