1984–85 Austrian Cup
The 1984-85 Austrian Cup was the national cup in Austrian football. SK Rapid Wien were the defending champions.
Originally 2 finals were planned, but Rapid and Austria agreed shortly before the first leg to only play one final in the Hanappi Stadium - Reasons: Austria wanted to play both games in the Hanappi Stadium for financial reasons, but this resulted in massive protests from their own supporters. On the date of the second leg of the final, a district festival was announced around the Hanappi Stadium, which, in view of the Brussels tragedy a few weeks earlier, would have been a risk.[1]
