The high jump at the Olympics of Grace was held in Florence at the ASSI Giglio Rosso on 31 May 1931. Seven competitors from seven nations competed in the event.[1][2][3]

changeDue to the number of entrants, the there was no qualification needed and all athletes competed in the final.
Final
changeThe final of the high jump event took place during the afternoon session on 31 May at 17:00 (local time).[2]
Both Hungarian Katalin Vértessy and Yugoslavian Jelka Tratnik finished at a height of 1.45 metres. To determine who would win the gold medal a playoff was held. The playoff lasted for half an hour was finally won by Vértessy with a height of 1.48 metres.
