Bogue is a city in Graham County, Kansas, United States. In 2020, 155 people lived there.[3]

History change
Bogue was created in 1888 as a railroad town.[4] It originally was named Wild Horse but the Union Pacific Railroad changed the name to honor Virgil Gay Bogue, a civil engineer working for the railroad and the founder of the city.[5][6]
The first post office in Bogue was created in September 1888. It was moved from Fagan.[7]
Geography change
Bogue is at 39°21′34″N 99°41′15″W / 39.359522°N 99.68739°W (39.359522, −99.68739). The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2). All of it is land.[2]
Bogue is on K-18. It is south of U.S. Route 24, on the South Fork Solomon River.
Climate change
Bogue has hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. The Köppen Climate Classification system says that Bogue has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[8]

2020 census change
The 2020 census says that there were 155 people, 71 households, and 38 families living in Bogue. Of the households, 85.9% owned their home and 14.1% rented their home.
The median age was 49.5 years. Of the people, 82.6% were White, 5.2% were Black, 2.6% were Native American, and 9.7% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.9% of the people.[3][9]
2010 census change
The 2010 census says that there were 143 people, 75 households, and 43 families living in Bogue.[10]
Education change
Bogue is a part of USD 281 Graham County. The district high school is in Hill City.[11]
