David Kay
American weapons inspector (1940–2022)
David A. Kay (June 8, 1940 – August 13, 2022) was an American weapons expert and political commentator. He was a senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.[1] He was born in Austin, Texas.
Kay was best known for his time as United Nations Chief Weapons Inspector following the first Gulf War. He was also the leader of the Iraq Survey Group's search for weapons of mass destruction after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He discovered that Iraq did not have any weapons of mass destruction.
Kay died on August 13, 2022 at his home in Ocean View, Delaware from cancer, aged 82.[2]
