Doug Baker (rugby union)

Douglas George Santley Baker (29 November 1929 – 21 December 2022) was an English rugby union player. He was a fly-half or a full-back. In 1955, he made four caps for England, and played twice for the British & Irish Lions during the tour of South Africa. He also played for Barbarian F.C. eight times between 1953 and 1957, scoring a total of 20 points for the side.
Baker was born in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Spain. He was schooled at Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood, and Oxford University.
After his rugby career ended, Baker moved to Australia. He was was a schoolteacher at Scotch College in Adelaide, South Australia. On 21 December 2022, he died in Sydney, New South Wales, at the age of 93.[1][2]
