In 2007, Elisa was chosen from a contest to be a model. She signed with Geneon Universal as a singer. In October 2007, she let out her single "Euphoric Field". It was used as the theme song for the anime series Ef: A Tale of Memories.[2]

In 2011, her agency said that she would be taking a break because of fatigue. Her concert that was scheduled for October 2 of that year at the Tokyo Globe-za theater was cancelled.[3] Her Twitter page was deleted.[3] She later let out an album on June 20, 2012.[4]

In January 2013, Elisa said that she would continue her singing career under a new label called SME Records.[5] She also made a new Twitter account.[5] She later let out a new single called "Shout my Heart".[5] It was in the twelfth volume of the LisAni magazine.[5]

In April 2014, Elisa performed at Sakura-Con in Seattle.[6] She let out the single "Millenario" on April 30, 2014. The song is used in the anime television series The Irregular at Magic High School.[7] She let out the single "Eonian" on November 12, 2014. The single is used in the animated movie Expelled from Paradise.[8]

Elisa let out the single "Rain or Shine" on August 31, 2016. The song is used in the anime television series 91 Days.[9] She let out two albums in 2016.[10][11] Elisa moved to the Sacra Music record label under Sony Music Entertainment Japan in April 2017.[12]

In September 2020, Elisa was sexually harassed by her manager. She ended her contract with Smile Company.[13]
