History

Esbon was planned out in 1873.[4] It was incorporated as a city in 1904.[5]

The first post office in Esbon was created in January 1874.[6]

Esbon was a shipping point on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.[5]

The 2020 census says that there were 69 people, 44 households, and 25 families living in Esbon. Of the households, 81.8% owned their home and 18.2% rented their home.

The median age was 58.5 years. Of the people, 92.8% were White, 1.4% were Native American, 1.4% were Asian, and 4.3% were two or more races. None were Hispanic or Latino.[3][8]
