Havensville is a city in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, 119 people lived there.[3]

History

Havensville had started in 1878 when a railroad was built through that territory.[4] It was named for Paul E. Havens, a railroad employee.[5][6][7]

The first post office in Havensville was created in March 1878.[8]

Havensville is at 39°30′40″N 96°4′35″W / 39.51111°N 96.07639°W / 39.51111; -96.07639 (39.511228, -96.076352).

The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.14 square miles (0.36 km2). All of it is land.[2]

Havensville has warm to hot (and often humid) summers and cold (sometimes severely cold) winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system says that Havensville has a humid continental climate, abbreviated "Dfa" on climate maps.[9]

As of the 2020 census, there were 119 people, 51 households, and 34 families living in Havensville. Of the households, 84.3% owned their home and 15.7% rented their home.

The median age was 47.3 years. Of the people, 93.3% were White, 1.7% were Native American, 0.8% were Asian, 1.7% were from some other race, and 2.5% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.4% of the people.[3][10]
