Ignatius Zakka I Iwas (Syriac: ܐܝܓܢܐܛܝܘܣ ܙܟܝ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܥܝܘܐܨ, Arabic: إغناطيوس زكا الأول عيواص, Zakkà ‘Īwāṣ, born Sanharib Iwas; 21 April 1933 – 21 March 2014) was an Iraqi Christian religious leader. He was the 122nd Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East from 1980 until his death. He was also Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church. He was born in Mosul, Iraq.

Iwas in December 2007.

Iwas died after a long illness on 21 March 2014 at a hospital in Kiel, Germany. He was 80.[1]
