Joe Donnelly
Joseph Simon "Joe" Donnelly, Sr. (born September 29, 1955) is an American politician. Donnelly was the United States Ambassador to the Holy See from 2022 to 2024. He was the United States Senator from Indiana. He is a member of the Democratic Party, Donnelly was in the Senate from January 3, 2013 to January 3, 2019.

In November 2018, Donnelly was defeated by Republican businessman Mike Braun.[1]
In October 2021, President Joe Biden announced he would nominate Donnelly to be the U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican (Holy See).[2] The United States Senate approved his nomination by a voice vote on January 20, 2022. On May 30, 2024, he announced that he would be stepping down from the post, effective July 8, 2024.[3]
