Kōji (Muromachi period)
Japanese era from October 1555 to February 1558
Kōji (弘治) was a Japanese era name (年号,, nengō,, lit. "year name") after Tenbun and before Eiroku. This period started in October 1555 and ended in February 1558.[1] During this time, the emperors were Go-Nara-tennō (後奈良天皇)[2] and Ōgimachi-tennō (正親町天皇).[3]

- 1555 (Kōji 1, 1st month): A border war between daimyos of Aki Province and Suō Province.[4]
- 1555 (Kōji 1, 11th month): Mōri Motonari[5] won the Battle of Itsukushima (厳島合戦, Itsukushima Kassen), also known as the "Battle of Miyajima"[6]
- 1555 (Kōji 1): Battle of Kawanakajima.[7]
- 27 September 1557 (Kōji 3, 5th day of the 9th month): Emperor Go-Nara died at age 62.[9]
