Kari Lake

American journalist and politician

Kari Ann Lake (born August 23, 1969) is an American retired television news anchor and politician. She used to present for KSAZ-TV television station in Phoenix, Arizona. She retired from her anchor role in early 2021.[1]

In June 2021, Lake announced her candidacy for Governor of Arizona in the 2022 election as a Republican. Her campaign has been supported by former President Donald Trump.[2] She won the Republican nomination in the August primary.[3] She lost the election to Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs in November 2022.

Lake announced her candidacy for the United States Senate in the 2024 election in October 2023.[4]

Lake used to be a Democrat between 2008 and 2012. She supported the presidential campaigns of John Kerry and Barack Obama.[5]
