The Kho people, also known as Chitralis, are an ethnic group living mainly in Pakistan and Afghanistan.[1] They speak the Khowar language. Their main religion is Sunni Islam. The Kho are excellent mountaineers who seemingly do not get tired or cold when working all day.[2]

HistoryEdit

These kho peoples are residing in chitral from many generations.

In old times, this whole region was knows as Kashkar and was apart of badakhshan in 12th century it was septrated from badakhshan.

LanguageEdit

These people speak Kho language which is branch of Dadikai languages. This language consist of Persian, sanskrit, ancient greek and avestan loanwords.
