Lakin, Kansas
Lakin is a city in Kearny County, Kansas, United States.[4] It is also the county seat of Kearny County. In 2020, 2,205 people lived there.[3]

History
changeLakin was created in 1874.[5] It was named after David Long Lakin, the former treasurer of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.[6][7]
A post office in Lakin was built in March 1874.[8] In 1888, Lakin was chosen to be the county seat.[9]

changeThe United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.95 square miles (2.46 km2). All of it is land.[10]
