Nazi songs were songs used by the Nazi Party (NSDAP) in Nazi Germany.
Not all of these songs were created for the Nazis. Some were very old. For example, Die Wacht am Rhein (written in 1840) and the Deutschlandlied (1841) were Nazi songs.
Horst-Wessel-Lied
changeThe Horst-Wessel-Lied, also known as Die Fahne Hoch ("the flag on high"), was the Nazi Party's anthem. It was written by Horst Wessel, a leader in the Sturmabteilung (SA), the Party's paramilitary wing. Wessel was later killed by a member of the Communist Party of Germany.
Today this song, like many other Nazi songs, is banned in Germany.
Es zittern die morschen Knochen
changeEs zittern die morschen Knochen was a very popular Nazi song written by Hans Baumann. It was the official song of the Hitler Youth. (For this reason, the song criticizes "elders".)
