Ozona, Texas

census designated place and county seat of Crockett County, Texas, United States

Ozona is a census-designated place in the state of Texas. It is the county seat of Crockett County.[3] It is the only settlement in the county that is recognized by the Census Bureau. About 2,663 people lived there in 2020.[4] First named Powell Well for E.M. Powell, a surveyor who made a well and a windmill in 1891. Its name was changed to Ozona because it has much open air or ozone.[3]
