Penelope Ying-Yen "Penny" Wong (born 5 November 1968) is an Australian lawyer and politician for the Labor Party. She was the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, under Leader of the Opposition. She has represented South Australia in the Senate since 2002.

In May 2022, Anthony Albanese picked Wong to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Wong was born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Her father is Malaysian Chinese of the Hakka people and her mother is Australian and of English ancestry. When her parents separated when she was eight, she moved to Adelaide, South Australia with her mother and her four-year-old brother younger brother, Toby. Toby killed himself in 2002.[1]

Wong is a lesbian.[2] Her partner is public servant, Sophie Allouache. They have two daughters, Alexandra (born 2011) and Hannah (born 2015).
