Ricardo dos Santos

Brazilian surfer (1990-2015)

Ricardo "Ricardinho" dos Santos (23 May 1990 – 20 January 2015) was a Brazilian surfer. He reached the quarterfinals at the 2012 Billabong Pro event in Tahiti, defeating many people including Kelly Slater. After the event, he was presented with the Andy Irons award given to the most determined competitor. He also reached a career high Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) QS ranking of 62 in 2011. He was sponsored by Australian surfing brand Billabong.

Ricardo dos Santos was born in Palhoça, Santa Catarina.

Ricardo dos Santos was shot dead by an off duty police officer on 20 January 2015 in São José, Santa Catarina, aged 24.[1]
