Map change
TDKR Chicago 101 I reverted your addition of the map showing projected results. Enwiki has consensus to keep it blank for now and I tend to agree. Thoughts? --IWI (talk) 17:14, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- ImprovedWikiImprovment I reverted your edit to simply hide the map in brackets. The 2020 enwiki map links to state pages whereas here there are non, so in other words the map if duplicated here will direct users to red links/no pages. The map I added is a simple WikiCommons map as used in previous election articles here in simple wiki. Personally, the map is being updated at WikiCommons and only reflects the results as seen live on many news outlets so I don't see the harm in having it especially here at Simple English where many of our readers are curious of the race and how the map looks. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 17:17, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- (change conflict) @TDKR Chicago 101: I suppose it is an issue if all the links are red (as they are in this case), but generally red links are okay. The main issue was displaying projected, and thus potentially incorrect, results. It is helpful in my view to at least have the Electoral College map blank for now, as is usual with future elections. --IWI (talk) 17:21, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- In response to that, per en:WP:NOTNEWS, we shouldn't be displaying what is news information. An encyclopedia should ideally display the results once confirmed and counted, not what is projected by newspapers. What happened to the State by State list of Votes? change
What happened to the list of state by state votes that were here and now gone. All of the other Presidential elections are listed in Wikipedia with the results. Why were they taken down? Daviddaniel37 (talk) 01:23, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
