Not simple! change
Most of the redlinks are technical terms our readers will not understand. If the average person doesn't know what a bitcoin is, then explaining these terms is going to be some job! Macdonald-ross (talk) 11:55, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- I simplified it somewhat; should now be understandable by a common reader. Note: Explaining the concept in much simpler terms will be difficult.--Eptalon (talk) 21:48, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
Less of a Method, more of a Thing change
Blockchain isn't just a method. It's a digital database that acts as a ledger. Ejenriquez (talk) 14:25, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you think you can provide a better explanation please do. Note also that "database" has a very specific meaning. Also, how the thing is implemented is different from what the thing actually is. And since the thing is distributed (that is: generally you have serveral "agents" that find some form of "agreement" on a value), thats fundamentally different from a database, where you simply put and get a value. If you put a value into a database, the database usually makes sure you will read the value that you put in. In the case of a "digital ledger" that does not have to be the case. But I guess that's fairly technical, and depending on how you implement it (there will be several different ways to do it).
- In any case, anyone can edit, so if you have an idea how to explain that in simple terms, go ahread... Eptalon (talk) 14:50, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- I understand it's very complicated lol
- When the asset is distributed from one agent to another, it becomes a "block-chain". The series of transactions.
- When you use the word "method", it implies some sort of procedure. Which there is, however I'm not sure if that's the accurate definition of it.
- Or at least what I know in basic English.
- Look how people use it in a sentence as an example:
- "Let's look at the transactions in the blockchain". Rather than "Let's blockchain our digital assets."
- Well I suppose, you can say "the assets go through a blockchain." IT does imply a procedure or method, but I believe that isn't the main thing the word is labelling.
- If I'm making any sense... Ejenriquez (talk) 03:32, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
Image replacement (there's a typo) change
User https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:SPQR10 made the picture but misspelled the word "Transaction". Someone with creative abilities should do something about it. Thanks in advance! Célestin Taramarcaz (talk) 16:17, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
