Reversion to English Wikipedia
changeIt is better and advisable if Wikipedia across languages carry the same information in the same spirit especially when the languages are English and Simple English. --Aze0098 (talk) 08:14, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Aze0098: You might not understand the purpose of Simple English Wikipedia. The language in articles here needs to be simple. The language in the English Wikipedia article is not simple. I have reverted the article to before the complex text was added. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:37, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Auntof6 and Aze0098: I think there has been some miscommunication here. What Aze0098 actually meant to say is that we need to be more careful in ensuring that the information we present does not directly contradict that of the English Wikipedia, especially when this wiki is in Simple English. In an earlier revert, Aze0098 disputed the way the article was written. I call to attention this particular part: "The LAC is the effective interim disputed border between the occupying Indian Army and China." This statement violates WP:NPOV, because it gives the impression that India is unlawfully occupying (annexing) territory that is rightfully China's. Disputed territories are areas which both nations (or even more) cannot agree with regards to its boundaries, so each country will have their own idea of which is their sovereign territory, and it follows that both sides will perceive the other nation to be "occupying". Also, the article in its current state is not balanced. The current version, to me, comes across as pro-India (especially the second paragraph).
- A lot of related articles (territorial disputes pertaining to India, Pakistan and China; LGBT-related topics in the context of India and Pakistan) were edited by the so-called "Pakistan anon" (more details here) who has a history of POV-pushing. We did not manage to revert all of the damage that this anonymous editor has caused, so we will need to look into restoring the neutrality of affected articles.
