This has been a proposed very good article for some time now. So what is it that is needed, so it can become one? --Eptalon 13:10, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I do my research through internet...and so far, Wikipedia had helped me all through out. this page, however, is the most useful one for me because it directly answers what i am really looking for.124.83.3.126 04:58, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why are the Plains states part of the Midwest? Who decides these things? I have lived in Nebraska for over 20 years now, and I have never felt like NE and the plains states have much to do with the states to the East of us. is there something official that determines that a state belongs to particular region? If, I think the central plains states need their own 'region'.

I would have to agree. The real Midwestern states are Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. You guys keep Iowa Ihopboi (talk) 21:21, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not “One of the Four US Geographic Regions”

change

By most standards the map presented is not a regularly designated geographic region. However, under the article’s title, it reads “One of the Four US Geographic Regions”. However, the Census-designated Midwest region includes the plains states (minus Oklahoma). For those thinking, “well this article is about the states in the East North Central division”, that’s not accurate. The division is along the Mississippi River. In fact, this grouping of states shows up in NONE of the various categorizations in the article on US geographic regions. Furthermore, the article's text correctly includes a wider set of states.

Hello there, anyone is free to edit Wikipedia, so you are free to edit and correct these problems. My impression was that the text we have somehow reflect what is written in the books given under "references". I am not from the US, and could not tell you what "Midwestern US" should refer to. --Eptalon (talk) 06:41, 20 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
