warm, hot crossiants

Welcome to WikiProject Baking! Our goal and aim is to bake the articles - especially about cakes and pastries - golden and brown, and sweeten them to make a good scent and taste well to our customers, that is, the people who read them. :) Most of the articles about baking and pastries here in Simple English Wikipedia are all stubs. Thus this project is to expand and improve those articles. Please look at the talk page for conversations of improvement ideas for the project and baking articles.

The Three Rules

change

These are the three rules that must be kept when "baking" articles.

  1. Shape the dough and flour prettily before you put it in the oven. It needs reliable, healthy ingredients and quality bowls to put them in. Make the structure neatly and simply.
  1. When you are finished mixing all the right ingredients together, slide it into the oven and leave it to bake well. Watch it closely and make sure other mean people don't try to ruin it. If you are still adding things to it and changing it here and there while it's in the oven, then tell others not to bother while you do it.
  1. Finally, take the now baked cake out and add the cream and decorations. Then, put it in the right category of pastries so your customers will know where to find it and eat it later.

Members

change

There aren't much requirements to become a member. Anybody can join this project as long as they aren't a vandal, and are kind and willing to help. It would also be agreeable to have users interested in baking, even if they don't know how to bake. All you have to do is sign your name below with four tildes ~~~~.

To do List

change

There are lots of things to do to get started on the project! Here's a list that may give you some good ideas.

  1. Expand, create, and promote any kinds of articles related to baked goods.
  2. Comment on the talk page of the project - we need more suggestions.
  3. Try and add references to Pancake.
  4. Fill in the red links in the article Pie.
  5. Welcome any new member who has joined the wikiproject and is not yet welcomed!
  6. Upload pictures of a real baked good (even better if you baked it yourself :D) and put it up in articles.
  7. Sit back and watch the others do all the work for you as you sip lemonade and suntan. -   Not done What's wrong with this list??
  8. Suggest more things to do on this list! :)

Barnstar

change

You can also award people barnstars, if you think they participated well or actively on the wikiproject and baking articles. But the person you award them must have at least created five articles about baking.

Add the template {{subst:The Baking Barnstar|message~~~~}} to the person's talk page and write your message in. Then that one will look a bit like this.
